Btw - why are lot of members mentioning FP related information under EAD? I did my FP last Oct. Should I be expecting second FP as a result of EAD renewal application. I am missing some thing basic here. Any pointers?
FP is mainly for E-filing folks, paper filers need not take FP.

INA doesn't talk about visa allocation for spouse and children in employment pref. So we need to atleast challenge CIS interpretation on this.

Otherwise, our talks will never get noticed.
India got 52Billion $ in Remittances . Most of them from US. No GC means more remittances.
Think collectively and do something big.

We would all like to part of a rally or protest but why give us only one days notice? Surely most people will not have read this post by tomorrow. We should organize this properly by sending out the message to the community well in advance and getting the required permits (I mean if you want this to be in any way successful that is).

Attach supporting documents. Call the USCIS customer service, they will tell you all the details, including fax number for this.

My wife and i got emails from USCIS and we checked our status online and it is now CPO. The approval is based on my wife's applicatiion ( EB2 India, Dec 2005). I had two applications one as her dependent and another my own that is EB3 I, Jan 2004.

Washington D.C. - Compete America today praised the introduction of the "SKIL Bill" by Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) to reform both the H-1B visa and employment based (EB visa) green card processes. The legislation is cosponsored by Senators Allard (R-CO), Allen (R-VA), Bennett (R-UT), Enzi (R-WY), and Lott (R-MS).
The SKIL Bill is the latest indicator that both the United States Senate and the Bush Administration are prepared to fix the visa system for highly educated foreign nationals. In addition to the SKIL Bill, Compete America has endorsed measures contained the Senate's comprehensive immigration legislation addressing H-1B and EB visa issues; and has also endorsed President Bush's call to ensure access to talent as part of the Administration's American Competitiveness Initiative.
"Senator Cornyn clearly understands the contribution highly-educated foreign nationals make to the U.S. economy and to Texas," said Texas Instruments CEO and President Richard K. Templeton. "The Senator's bill reaffirms America's proud tradition of welcoming top talent to this country. The reality is that most scientists and engineers with advanced degrees from U.S. universities are foreign born. The competition for talent is truly global. If the U.S. wants to win, we absolutely must encourage these advanced degree holders to stay here and get their green cards - not send them home to compete against us. The 'SKIL' bill really advances that goal."
Both the H-1B and EB visa/green card programs have been responsible for bringing much needed foreign talent to live and work in the United States, and most importantly, to make significant contributions to the U.S. economy and global competitiveness. However, H-1B shortages have been well documented, and backlogs in the green card system are getting worse, forcing thousands of valued foreign-born professionals - including researchers, scientists, teachers and engineers - into legal and professional limbo for seven years or more.
Among the provisions of the SKIL Bill (Securing Knowledge Innovation and Leadership) endorsed by Compete America are the following:
Exemptions for U.S. educated foreign workers with advanced degrees in math, science, technology and engineering fields from the H-1B and EB quotas so their talent can be retained in the United States.
Creation of a flexible, market-based H-1B cap so that U.S. employers are not locked out of hiring critical talent.
Extension of foreign students' post curricular optional practical training from 12 months to 24 months to allow them to go more easily from student to green card.

You can do all you want and be as blunt. USCIS doesn't have to answer to you. Stop chanting the "HIGHLY SKILLED", paying all taxes, nonsense. You were not brought to the USA at gun point. You chose to come (and stay). The USA can just put one ad in the newspaper anywhere in the world and there will be 10 million highly skilled NEW people they can bring. They do not need you (us). It is important to remember that we are not doing anyone a favor by being here except yourselves.

That is the right thing to do for the way you live without compassion, not being able to make an argument without calling names, death for you is the right thing. Please whats all these arguments about? MS from the states, BS + 10 years experience etc. Please we don't need all these. There are people that come to the states and dont even pay a dime in tuition instead they even get paid - in the form of research assistanships and scholarships.
Whatever the case, it is not fair to come to the US work for a long period of time and then get thrown out (say after 6 years) like the H1B visa.
What we need to concentrate our energy and efforts on is for congress to create a PATH for SELF SPONSORSHIP of GCs. For example, if u have lived LEGALLY in the US for 5 or more years, paid taxes and stayed out of troble then you should be able to apply for a green card. That gives you some hope that if I do such and such then one day I'd qualify for a green card. It also takes care of those that started counting as F1 then H1. It balances out everything.
The way it is now, there is no hope. Everything is uncertain. We are living uncertain lives. If we get sacked, we dont even know what step to take next. It is so dipressing and furstrating. Thats exactly what it is tempoary workers living TEMPOARY LIVES. Some are just waiting until 6 years H1 B expires and then .... yes and then what?? They dont even know. As it is most employers are unwillingly to sponsor GC. Why go through all the troubles??

Did you file I-140/I-485 concurrently. Where is employer's office location? and your residency?
I have filed I-140/I-485 concurrently on July 25th at Nebraska, my employer and my residence come under Texas Service centre according to new direct filing instructions.
I am in NJ and my employer too, and yes 140-485-765 concurrently..and I just checked the 140 file and it was updated 8-12-07...Do you guys think this is related to notices of action??? :confused:
