Hi,
My employer filed my wife's and my EAD paper based application on Jul 25, 2008 (TSC Received Date). But I still haven't received the Receipt notices for the same.
Generally how long does take to get the receipt notices?
Please let me know if any has filed around same date and received the receipts?

my app reached on 7/1, Recieved receipt on 7/11 with notice date 7/7. Remember 7/4 was a holiday. 8-14 calendar days is the most common i have seen for receiving receipt. Ask your company's lawyer if the checks are cashed yet, if yes try to get the receipt # from the back of the check. When my first EAD was filed last year, our corporate lawyer had sent me image of back of the check.

My employer says EVL is not required for 485 filing. How do I make him understand that it is required? Any links from USCIS website or any authentic info will be helpful. I searched and couldn't find it!! TIA

Hello Everyone,
My checks were cashed yesterday. My application reached NSC on July 14. My I-140 was also approved from NSC.
I got the receipt numbers from the back of the checks, however when I entered them on the USCIS website, it said that the numbers were invalid. Any idea if I need to wait another day or so before the system will accept them?

Great!! People are already talking about the flowers to USCIS. By the way, there are flower websites, with same day delivery.
I have convinced a few people at work to do this. Their point is, if we really want to do this, let's do it in a way that works. After receiving a few deliveries, USCIS will get the idea and direct it's lobby security to refuse all further flower deliveries. What's our plan for that situation?
How did the people who delivered nuts to CBS make it happen? The delivery was actually done via UPS. It's difficult to refuse a UPS packet in the security lobby! Should we send chocolates via UPS instead? It will be much more difficult to refuse deliveries of chocolates.

Removal of country limits temporarily and permanently, will both require the support of the majority of both houses of the congress. It will require as much effort to to remove country limits temporarily as it will require to remove country limits permanently.
Some folks here just wants to remove country limits till the time they get their agree card i.e. for the span of 2 years. If removal of country limits is good for EB community and America, then why only remove it for 2 years ONLY.
Such a campaign is likely to divide this community. PLEASE DO NOT divide the community by supporting this mis-directed agenda.
If country caps can be removed temporarily then they can be removed permanently. But asking for less than what key lawmakers have already proposed less than 6 months back is like shooting ourselves in the foot. PLEASE DO NOT throw others under the bus. PLEASE!!!!

Careful my friend. Porting rules will be as tough as the rules for applying in Eb2. If you make porting difficult, you will set a higher standard for the approval of your application in Eb2 ending up with the possible rejection of yours and other Eb2 applications.

I was working on DC but so far just received 30 votes..
Like I said I will talk to core members if only we have 1000 members who wants to do it in DC on July 14th.. So many members are online but they don't even want to take a poll.. I don't know what to expect from members..

Aug 12 - Hard LUD saying Welcome Notice Mailed on Aug 12
Aug 13 - Soft LUD

It takes 90 days MINIMUM to get EAD? I've heard that it takes at most 90 days to get EAD. Does anyone know?
No it shouldn't take that long... some of my friends got it in 2 weeks couple of months back. First time we should get it soon .. renewal only takes time.... I am not sure how long it will take for us, it dependes on their work load also.

I agree. Most people are risk averse & the decision to go back is a tough one. However, more people are considering that option now than ever before. And the ones that I know have gone back are pretty happy with their decision.

My family do not have SSA? I need to apply for them as well.
It won't take more than 1 hr to get all those. A simple form to be filled out (for a new SSN) and I think SS5 form (please google) for those updating SSN. It's very simple procedure. SSA will need proper ID/ and GC to verify your current status. Card should arrive in 2 weeks...

I don't know why what (s)he has done to India or U.S or any other place should be any of our business? What has that got to do with his/her depression about not receiving GC? Why is that as soon as someone poses a simple question, people tend to get on the moral high-horse? BTW, the poster never said (s)he is going back yet.
2: just don't lose hope. Your day in the sun will come. I am kinda in the similar situation as you are too (came in 1999, PD of 2002, was in the labor backlog for 5 years...). Just keep your chin up. As someone else said, you are getting closer to your GC.

Offcourse I don't know all laws. I will believe DOS/USCIS URLs that explain how VB dates are set.
In general, it will be very useful to finds URLs that explain VB date setting and identify USCIS inconsistencies which they call LAW.
See below link...It has some explanation of the cut-off dates. I don't know if that helps. Also it has been noted the AC21 was intsrumental in re-capturing 131K visas which kept the dates current until 2005. Amazing!! We should hire the lobbying firm which worked on AC21:D
