Nma check is history now. After filed I-485, and 180 days passed, name check is not a factor for GC. If your NC is pending, still they issue you a GC.

Isn't that they have completed input and receipt issuance for cases received by certain date (late Aug.?) according to their update? How come so many July filers still have not received receipts? Weird!
No, it seems as per the latest USCIS update (on Sept 7, 2007) the NSC has completed issuing receipt notices till July 28, 2007, and TSC till July 2, 2007.
Do you have any other updates?

Usually it takes 2-3 weeks to receive the receipt numbers. My lawyer sent my file on 06/06/2007 which should have reached USCIS on 06/07/2007. I am not expecting a receipt number before third week of June. I will post here when I receive my receipt.

Before SKIL bill there were Talent Bill and PACE act which were pending for a long time. the senate has not taken up the immigration reform debate yet. and it can be postponed forever. So how much hope is there for SKIL bill ?
Also after senate, there is a bigger hurdle, the house of representatives. Remember the Budget Reconciliation Bill was passed in Senate with the Immigration related Clauses. But was stripped off in the House. So is there any hope ?
Sorry I am being Skeptical. But apart from some media publicity, IV does'nt have brought up anything good to the Legal Immigrants community.
Have IV recieved any Positive Responses for the faxes being sent. Will the Backlog elimination Centers Improve their processing speed, and transparency of cases?
I am on H4 visa, So I am dumped. and Here is my friend who had to resign her job because her 6 yrs limit on H visa. and We are feeling depressed day by day in this UNFAIR IMMIGRATION SYSTEM. Aren't H4 spouses considered as Immigrants ?

And yes, SKIL does not allow us to self petition, it is a travesty.

For some postal destinations the USPS offers guaranteed 2 day service. I recently mailed a package where this service was offered. The postal worker explained that if the package was mailed on a Friday, it would be delivered on Sunday. San Francisco, CA is one of the destinations where this service is offered and the package in question was, indeed, delivered on a Sunday.
You should check whether the postal service offers the 2-day service to the USCIS office.

BUt if they were working on 25000 in 48 hours. The only reason i think they took it is to finish the number of visa available.

Let me first of all thank you for taking a strong stand for your highly skilled employees at this critical time. I am on an H1b visa and am a certified professional working in this country. I just wanted to ask you a few question. The biotech firms employ a lot of people on H1b visas. How come none of them, excluding Genentech, is included in the compete america group's letter to the congress. I strongly feel and pharmaceutical companies, contract research organizations, other biotech companies should also be included to stand for the H1b visa and green card issue for their employees. Seccond question I would like to ask is about the provision to renew the H1b in increment of 3 years each after the 6th year, which apparently has been taken off in this new CIR bill. This is a very technical issue and employers would not want to loose the trained employees after the 6th year period. It does not make any sense to refuse renewability of the H1b after 6 years since by that time that employee has already become an asset to the company or this nation. Please make sure to stand for that particular issue. H1b should be renewable in increments of 3 years each if the GC has been filed by the 5th year. Let me thank you for successfully campaigning for increasing the H1b numbers and hopefully this will enable me to move from my present acadamic position (Ast Prof at XXXXXX) to an Industry. With this issue of priority date taking a back seat to notice date when dates are current :
While it is frustrating to the people with older priority dates (including me); it could very well be that USCIS is approving people with later priority dates sooner because its simply easier for them to do so. I really hope that this trend does not last beyond Aug-Sep. And in October, for EB2 - I, there is still a good likelihood that for people with priority dates < 2004, dates may still be current. So they can very well be approved from Oct onwards. So if I have to sacrifice a few months of waiting time to make sure visa numbers dont go wasted. I am prepared to do so.
Also it is very likely that people with older priority dates have a longer history in the US. So USCIS might need more time correlating all entry/exit time stamps, making sure we were in status all this while; but a person with 2006 priority date might have entered the US in 2005 & so less history to check.
Also there is the case where later priority dates were using PERM. since PERM was made to be less abusive than the previous LC process, maybe they take less time cross checking LC data.
It is unfair. So is life. Do I think a person with EB3 with priority date 2002 needs to wait 5 more years than a person with EB2 priority date 2006. No thats unfair as well.
Complaining issues such as this to the authorities will only make one thing clear - The current US immigration is full of such vagaries. It needs a clear & complete over haul. Thats not gonna happen soon.

My checks got encashed this friday. Applications were delivered to NSC on July 2nd, later forwarded to TSC. My I140 was approved in TSC.
When the checks get encashed, the receipts number are printed on the back of the check. Using the receipt number you can track your application. I also subscribed for automated email from the USCIS website if there is any change in the status. I got an automated reply from USCIS yesterday.
Application Type: I765, APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION
Current Status: Card production ordered.
On August 21, 2007, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.
